Ms. Mary O’connor has been the Chief Executive Officer of Financial Lines for Willis GB at Willis Towers Watson Public Limited Company since October 26, 2015. Ms. O’connor serves as Global Head of Financial Institutions Industry at Willis Towers Watson Public Limited Company and is responsible for Willis’s world-wide practice in relation to all financial services clients. She leads the delivery of innovative risk management and broking services through Willis’ global network combined with UK based financial and executive risks business. Ms. O’Connor served as the Head of Risk and Compliance of Willis Towers Watson Public Limited Company. Ms. O’Connor served as Head of Approved Persons at UK Financial Services Authority (FSA) and was responsible for overseeing regulation of executives and client-facing staff working in financial services in the UK. She served as a Manager in the Enforcement and Financial Crime Division, where she successfully led high-profile investigations into LIBOR-rigging and obtained record-breaking fines against firms and individuals. Prior to her time at the FSA, she was a Partner at a major US law firm in London, and an Assistant US Attorney in Washington, DC, where she reported to the current Attorney General, Eric Holder. Ms. O’Connor held senior positions in government in the UK and the US. She served at FSA (now the Financial Conduct Authority). She was a securities litigator and prosecuted numerous market abuse and insider trading cases. She is a leading expert on risk and regulation. Ms. O’Connor is an accomplished lawyer with over two decades of senior government and private sector experience in areas of regulation and financial crime in the UK, the U.S. and internationally. She has been a Non-Executive Director of Charity Bank Limited since August 2014. She served as an Executive Director of Willis Limited. She is a Member of the world Economic Forum Project in Accelerating Capital markets development and C5’s European Anti-Corruption Board.
