How has this been happening in the US?<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p id=\"ember1821\" class=\"ember-view reader-content-blocks__paragraph\">In a recent presentation by Richard Berner, clinical professor of finance, co-director, NYU volatility and risk institute at NYU Stern, Berner discussed in detail how AML is modernising in the US market.<\/p>\r\n<p id=\"ember1822\" class=\"ember-view reader-content-blocks__paragraph\">Berner asked the question \u2013 why do we need to modernise? He said, \u201cWell, it\u2019s pretty clear to all of us that our current approaches to limiting money laundering and financial crime are slow, inaccurate and costly, as well as being burdensome and they don\u2019t get the job done.<\/p>\r\n<p id=\"ember1823\" class=\"ember-view reader-content-blocks__paragraph\">\u201cOne might say the same thing about financial regulation generally, although we\u2019ve had a lot more success there, having had more experience with it.
