Kristina joined Aberdeen in 2024 as Group Head of Sustainability. She joined from BNY Mellon where she was Global Head of Sustainable Solutions, a cross-divisional role responsible for all commercially-related sustainability and ESG topics across the bank. Previously, Kristina was Global Head of Responsible Investment Strategy at BNY Mellon Investment Management, a $2trillion multi-asset manager.
In her career spanning more than 20 years in the investment and finance industries, she has enjoyed roles spanning group sustainability strategy, sustainable investing, sustainable and thematic research, client portfolio management and equity research. She has chaired Responsible Investment Committees, ESG Advisory Councils, been the key spokesperson on topics spanning the spectrum of sustainability and sat on a number of advisory boards, including the Impact Investing Institute and Maniv Mobility.
Kristina has held leadership roles at Lombard Odier Investment Managers and Barclays Capital, and began her career as an auditor at Deloitte before training as an equity analyst at Citigroup. Her research has spanned topics including climate change, decarbonisation of hard-to-abate industries, biodiversity and natural capital, the circular economy, sustainable mobility, infrastructure, sustainable finance regulations and stewardship. Kristina spent a decade at Barclays Capital, latterly leading the global industrial team’s sustainable and thematic research and formerly as Head of European Automotive equity research. She focused on long-term strategic challenges and how to prepare the mobility sector in the face of disruption from carbon regulation and sustainability trends. During this time, she developed a specialisation in micromobility, electric mobility and smart city adaptation.
Kristina is passionate about financial inclusion and education. She is a Trustee of the University of Buckingham and member of its Finance and Resources Committee. She is also Chair of the finance committee and member of the audit & risk committee of Future Academies, a Multi-Academy Trust and Chair of Governors at a local Academy. With a keen focus on promoting diversity and inclusion, she enjoys acting as a mentor to future leaders within the organisations she works and has previously spent time supporting children in underprivileged areas with career coaching.
She is a qualified chartered accountant and holds a BA (Hons) from Oxford University.
