Biography

Samantha has over 20 years’ experience as a qualified ACA. Samantha is currently leading regulatory reporting and transformation (IRB and standardised), including system implementation having previously covered cost stewardship and audit, project management; CTA cost & benefits realization; transformation programmes and operating model implementation, TCO and service catalogue. Samantha is equally comfortable operating at Board and at a detailed level to derive and deliver pragmatic solutions, driving career satisfaction from issue resolution and value add. Recent career highlights include a successful independent assurance of capital ratios following Metro’s RWA issues (including direct regulatory engagement) and achievement of a positive outcome for a material outsource at LBG. Samantha has also been responsible for Internally Developed Software (governance, controls, analytics, issue remediation, system implementation), leading an impairment exercise across the entire Intangible Software Balance sheet (30 countries,$1bn assets).

Samantha established an interim consulting business within Banking to consult on specific operational/ financial issues. All roles were secured through reputation where Samantha identified and resolved issues and implemented solutions to prevent re-occurrence. Samantha’s interest in operating at both the strategic and detailed level provides a unique opportunity to perform root cause analysis and embed sustainable solutions. Additionally, Samantha has been providing pro bono financial support to small local businesses. Samantha is resilient and offers great adaptability to employers whether across financial, risk, data privacy and operational issues.

Finance Partner focused roles have included management and oversight of planning & budgeting, deep dive analytics, reporting and governance, vendor rationalisation, asset reviews, TCO modelling, capitalisation reviews, allocation of charges, intercompany billing/ disputes and resource management. Samantha has also experience in cost optimization, managing business case investments, performance of investments against pre-defined targets, definition and interpretation of guidelines for programme recognition and ensuring due process is applied to saves recognition and stranded costs.
