Craig Reid is President, National Practice Leader – Retirement & Wealth at Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), a subsidiary of Marsh. With 12 years of experience in the financial services industry, his passion for helping people create better financial futures is at the core of his success.
In 2018, Craig opened a retirement practice in MMA’s Overland Park office. After establishing the framework for the Kansas operation, he was promoted to National Practice Leader, Retirement & Wealth in August 2019 and subsequently became President of MMA Securities LLC in April 2020.In these roles, he works closely with MMA’s strategy team to execute short and long-term strategies to achieve business objectives and ensure operational excellence. He establishes and leads the team’s business strategy, direction, and focus, while managing relationships with external and internal partners. In addition, he works with regional leaders at MMA to ensure the retirement services and wealth management businesses produce the desired results.
Craig started his career at a super-regional bank in Kansas City. After obtaining his life insurance license and Certified Financial Planner designation, he moved from the banking platform to the bank’s wealth management division, partnering with the head of retirement plans to provide services to plan sponsors and participants alike.
His eye for financial success stemmed from growing up in a family with a lot of love but sometimes short on dollars, when his father lost his job after the dot-com bubble and his mother supported the family’s five kids on her modest income and credit cards. After entering the workforce, he was recruited into financial services and discovered his passion for financial planning and vowed to help clients avoid the challenges his parents faced by being ill-prepared for life’s twists and turns. (And yes, I helped my parents to set a plan in place to achieve financial independence!)
When he’s not at the office, he is actively pursuing his MBA and enjoys working out, cooking, and traveling.
