Summary
Accion is dedicated to building a more financially inclusive world, and to serve the people left behind by the world’s economic systems.
In March 2017 the firm announced that, along with venture capital firm Quona Capital Management, they had raised $141m for a new fund that will invest in FinTech startups that provide services to undeserved consumers and businesses, and that the geographical focus will be on emerging markets in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and Asia.
They used their new fund to log their first foray into the InsurTech space in an undisclosed investment into South Africa-based AllLife in May 2017.
