Summary

Rabobank is a socially responsible bank active in the Netherlands and many other companies worldwide. They aim to contribute to welfare in the Netherlands and work to solve the global food issue. The bank serve more than 6.7 million retail and 800,000 business customers in the Netherlands. The firms venture capital arm Rabo Ventures is a leading venture capital fund focused on investing in fast growing clean technology companies.

In April 2016 Rabobank launched a €40m fund to support early-stage financial technology companies. The bank has partnered with FinTech companies for many years to develop innovative products to serve its customers. In February 2014 Rabobank backed the launch of Startupbootcamp’s FinTech accelerator in London and since then the firm has partnered with companies such as Signicat, to launch a Digital Identity Service, and Finastra, to build a cross -border payments hub.

Other partnerships have resulted in the development of new products. Facturis, an online platform which aims to optimize the financial situation of small and medium sized enterprises came about through a partnership between Rabobank and UnifiedPost an invoicing technology platform. Rabobank also run their own internal acceleration program called Moonshoot which allows company employees to present and develop innovative ideas.
