Dublin-based fintech startup Touchtech will hire 40 technical and marketing professionals in the next three years after sealing its first deal.

Optimus Cards Group, a payment card services provider in the UK and Ireland, has confirmed the contract with newly-appointed Touchtech operations director John Power and product head Niall Hogan.

This paves the way for a future business expansion and enables the company to create the additional jobs.

Touchtech has also recently received €250,000 from Enterprise Ireland, which has committed to provide another €100,000 in the future.

The startup business has now raised total funding of around €1m.

Founded in 2013 by entrepreneurs Joseph Kuye and Shekinah Adewumi, Touchtech has created an alternative to traditional online authentication technologies such as Verified by Visa.

Its transaction authentication platform (TAP) does not require the use of passwords for online payments or bank transfers.
