AI-powered financial assistant Clinc has picked up $6.3m in a Series A round led by Drive Capital.
Hyde Park Venture Partners and Cahoots Holdings also participated alongside Denham Capital’s Stuart Porter.
The Ann Arbor, Michigan-based startup develops voice-controlled personal assistant Finie, which aims to help users understand their finances using natural language.
Clinc’s ‘trained brain’ is designed to understand complex finance and banking industries but also a users’ language including wording, sentiment, intent, tone of voice, time of day, location, and relationships.
Founded in the University of Michigan’s Clarity Lab in 2015, the startup says it will use the capital to expand its team of 21 and invest in product innovation.
Clinc total funding now sits at $7.5m with it previously picking up a $1.2m seed round in August 2016.
