Crowdfunding platform Tip Ventures has rebranded to become 200 Crowd, alongside close of €300,000 investment round.
Backers to the company included various business angels and private investors.
Italy-based 200 Crowd is an equity crowdfunding platform that enables private individuals or investment entities to back startups and SMEs. Investors that are residing in Italy also receive a 30 per cent tax incentive to their invested sums.
Capital from this round of funding will be used to release new features and investment verticals, with the aim of improving the whole experience, as wells as furthering the expansion and growth of the community.
The company has also launched a new campaign validation tool, which uses a qualitive and quantitative algorithm to analyse a business, and its managerial and financial aspects to complete due diligence.
TWO HUNDRED founder and CEO Matteo Masserdotti said, “We are excited about the work done in recent months. Compared to 2016, we have recorded growth metrics that make us look forward to future work: + 300% of the number of site members, + 350% of active investors, over € 1.5 million, 3x number of campaigns launched. In addition, the team has expanded with the inclusion of highly experienced figures, including internationals.”
The Italian FinTech sector has not had much activity, with last year only $17.5m being invested into the country. Of the investments, the country is dominated by the marketplace lending sector, with it representing $17m of the capital invested.
