Real estate crowdfunding and investing platform RealtyMogul has named Aaron Halfacre as president.
While serving as president and an executive team member, Halfacre will be responsible for building a company-wide strategy, driving execution and increasing business growth. He will also become a voting member on RealtyMogul investment committee and have a focus on growing assets under management and transaction volumes.
Prior to this new role, Halfacre served as the president and CIO at Campus Crest, which is a student housing real estate investment trust. In this position, he helped with the $1.9bn take-private transaction of the company.
Halfacre has served in a variety of positions over the past 20 years including an executive at Cole Real Estate Investments and chief of staff and head of product development at BlackRock Global Real Estate Group. While working at BlackRock, he also served as the COO of a $14bn equities investment team.

RealtyMogul is a commercial real estate investment platform that enables investors access to pre-vetted opportunities. The platform has a minimum investment of $5,000 and provides consumers with data insights to help build their investment strategy.
Through the platform, users can access financing through a commercial loan or equity capital. Commercial loans can be either a bridge loan from $1m to $25m or a mezzanine loan of between $1m and $5m. Equity financing opportunities are between $1m and $7m and can be on a joint venture basis or preferred equity.
The company has raised around $45m from investors, and launched its first crowdfunded property in late 2016.
