Accel-KKR acquires non-profit fundraising and marketing software platform Salsa Labs, for an undisclosed amount.
US-based Salsa Labs provides non-profit organisations with a platform for fundraising, advocacy and marketing. The company helps over 3,000 organisations and 10,000 non-profit individuals with their goals through solutions like automated marketing efforts.
Online fundraising works by setting up mobile-friendly donation pages, which can be personalised with automated messaging, one-time gifts, recurring donations, and fundraising performance tracking tools. Non-profits can also access P2P fundraising software, and a mobile app to check progress anytime and thank donors instantly.
Through this deal, Salsa Labs hopes to organically grow its platform and acquire other technology that can help non-profits further.
This acquisition will see Salsa Labs COO Donna Myers transition to the CEO role. In 2015, Salsa Labs merged with DonorPro, where Myers had initially served as the CEO.
Myers said, ?We look forward to working with the team at Accel-KKR to aggressively pursue the many growth opportunities that are available to us including the acquisition of complementary technologies and services that will help non-profits raise more money, grow their supporter bases, and advocate for change.p>
Accel-KKR have been very active in the FinTech market this year, with this being the second deal of the month. Last week, the firm made a majority investment in to the website and agency marketing software developer Insurance Technologies.
