European SME investor Idinvest Partners has brought in former Balderton Capital and XAnge Private Equity venture capitalist Nicolas Debock as an investment director.
Debock joins the firm’s venture capital team, and will focus on sourcing, analysing and executing investments in France and the wider European market.
Nicolas spent seven years working at Balderton and XAnge making software-as-a-service, marketplaces and FinTech investments focusing on the French and Southern European markets.
Prior to that he worked as innovation ecosystem Manager for La Poste, where he was in charge of analysing new trends in technology and managing relationships with the start-up ecosystem.
In April, Idinvest Partners held a first close for its third digital fund on $220.8m.
The first close of Idinvest Digital Fund III has exceeded that of its predecessor, Idinvest Digital Fund II, which raised €154 million, and the fund is targeting a final close of €300 million.
The new vehicle will look to back companies with high growth potential operating in the enterprise software, fintech, insurtech, deeptech and healthtech.
Earlier this year, Idinvest Partners took part in a $22m funding round for people analytics company Peakon. The round was led by Balderton Capital and featured EQT Ventures fund and Sunstone.
