Capital Constellation, a provider of catalytic investment capital, has invested into FinTech-focused investor Motive Partners.
By investing into Motive, Constellation is furthering its aim of supporting investor entrepreneurs and the creation of the next generation of private equity and alternative investment firms. This deal marks Constellation’s third investment of the year.
Motive Partners is a New York and London-based investor which backs technology companies innovating the financial services. Alongside its investment division, the firm also operates through Motive Labs which works in tandem with financial institutions to boost stakeholders.
Constellation founding board member Russell Valdez said, “We believe Motive’s investing and integrated operating platform will be uniquely positioned in the financial technology sector, particularly as the world’s most sophisticated financial institutions are re-evaluating the role of technology in their businesses.
“We’re excited to partner with Motive given their innovative model and deep expertise as entrepreneurs, executives and investors.”
There are currently three FinTechs in Motive’s portfolio including commercial and investment bank compression service LMRKTS, and core banking software builder Avaloq.
Earlier in the year, Motive Partners acquired a 40 per cent stake in Global Shares for an undisclosed amount. The Irish FinTech offers software and services for employee share plan administration, enabling businesses to offer their staff equity awards of stock options, ISOs, CSARs, SSARs, RSUs, RSAs, PSUs and NQSOs.
