Cardstream forms an anti-fraud alliance with Gala Technology

White label payments company Cardstream has form a fraud prevention alliance with Gala Technology.

The aim of this agreement is to protect ‘thousands of embattled Card Not Present Mail Order Telephone Order merchants.’

Integrating Gala’s solution with Cardstream’s Merchant Management solution will give its reseller and merchant network will have access to the latest digital telephony payment technology, helping to meet the PCI SSC guidelines.

Also part of the partnership, Gala will access Cardstream’s white label platform. This will allow developers to utilise Cardstream’s one-click API and will take merchants and customers to Gala’s secure payment processor.

UK-based Gala deploys its SOTpay software which secures telephone payments by sending a payment link directly to the consumer through email or text. Merchants have a real-time view of what step a cardholder is on and offer guidance on completing the payment if required.

Gala Technology chairman Jason Mace said, “Paying a business over the telephone is a convenience that many consumers expect, yet few merchants realise how easy it is for criminals to use stolen card data in this channel.

“SOTpay is a smart, secure and innovative payment platform that enhances the security of telephone payments. Placing SOTpay’s niche technology in front of Cardstream’s global network of merchants is set to bring them major relief from exploitation of the chargeback system.”
