On-demand insurance platform Trov has expanded its presence in the US with a launch in four more states.
Trov’s services are now available to residents in Delaware, Nevada, South Dakota, and Wyoming – Arizona is the only other state the app is currently available in.
Trov is in the progress of deploying the solution to other states in the US ‘soon.’ The company has already received regulatory approval in more US states, with only seven left to be approved.
The company offers on-demand insurance policies for headphones, wearables, tablets, phones, cameras, laptops and photography equipment.
Its mobile app enables users to simply turn on or off insurance cover in a matter of taps, covering from accidental damage, loss or theft. Claims can be completed through text messages, simply outlining the details of the claim.
In a blog post from the company it said, “We’ve been busy obtaining state-by-state approvals for Trov’s innovative approach to insurance over the past months. State government regulates insurance a little differently for their populace (as they should), so we’ve been adapting our tech platform and policies to comply with every state.”
The InsurTech raised $45m in its Series D funding round in 2017 which Munich Re / HSB Ventures led. Other contributions to the round came from Oak HC/FT, Anthemis Group and Pivot Investment Partners.
