Cyber risk modelling platform RedSeal raises growth equity from STG

Cyber risk modelling platform RedSeal has received an undisclosed growth equity investment from Symphony Technology Group (STG).

With this line of funds, the company will look to further the growth momentum it has had, but also to seek other growth opportunities and improving the platform for existing customers.

The RedSeal cyber risk modelling platform is for hybrid environments, ensuring financial institutions, and government agencies can resist cyber attacks on public and private clouds and on physical network environments. Clients can access actionable intelligence, situational awareness and a digital resilience score to help assess their network and combat any identified vulnerabilities.

RedSeal integrates with a client’s public and private cloud managers and imports host and vulnerability data to monitor any weaknesses. Its algorithms calculate an accurate model of the client’s network and how data traverses through it. Once completed, it builds a map showing the route and any vulnerabilities.

The cybersecurity platform helps compliance teams to meet requirements of PCI DSS and NERC-CIP or any other internal security policy. Its platform can automate compliance processes, ensuring all documents are tracked and maintained and a user can easily find data needed.

RedSeal also gives businesses tools for vulnerability management, network incident response and cyber insurance support.

STG managing director John Treadwell said, “The scale and depth of RedSeal’s modeling and analytic capabilities are unique in the market, and they create meaningful insights to inform and empower today’s overmatched security teams. The force multiplying that customers experience with RedSeal is the definition of using insights and understanding to optimize effort for impact, a vision that STG has pursued in many of our most successful investments.

“Given this shared mission of using real-time insights at scale to drive impact, RedSeal was a strategic choice for our firm’s first investment into cybersecurity, and we are thrilled to partner with Ray Rothrock and the leadership team to help them accelerate their growth.”
