Trinity Cyber raises $23m in funding led by Intel Capital

Trinity Cyber, which proactively intercepts, and controls cyberattacks, has raised $23m in a new funding round.

Intel Capital led the investment, with additional support coming from unnamed strategic backers.

Trinity Cyber provides businesses with tools to proactively stop attacks before they reach internal networks, lowing risk and increasing cost of adversaries. Its technology has been designed so that it works alongside traditional, reactive detection and remediation capabilities.

In line with the new funding, the company revealed former Homeland Security Advisor and US cybersecurity chief Tom Bossert will join the company’s management team.

Tom Bossert said, “The trend in global cyberattacks has been going in the wrong direction for some time, and American businesses are paying the price. It’s time we meet this problem with a truly preventive solution.

“Trinity Cyber provides a high calibre solution to U.S. businesses that is capable of defeating nation-state level attacks and long overdue.”

Earlier in the month, Intel Capital led the $20m Series B of Kyndi, which uses AI to create actionable intelligence for financial institutions. The platform scores the provenance and origin of every document it processes, while helping an organisation find information lost among clusters of documents.

The firm also recently participated in the $18m funding round of cyber deception solution TrapX Security. Its platform uses deception technology to detect, deceive, and stop advanced cyber attacks and human attackers in real-time.
