Mishi Pay said to raise £3.5m in new funding round

Mobile self-checkout service Mishi Pay has reportedly raised £3.5m in its Series A round.

The round was backed by American Express Ventures, Nauta Capital, and United Ventures, according to UKTN.

This funding round will be used to support the expansion of the platform and the international growth efforts.

MishiPay offers a mobile self-checkout service which lets consumers can use their smartphone to scan and pay for items at a retailer’s store. This enables them to leave a store without having to go to a checkout.

The company previously closed its seed round £1.6m in 2017 from backers including Nauta Capital.

Earlier in the year, Nauta Capital participated in the $11m Series A round of centralised data platform Onna. The startup offers a central access point of information to ensure consumers can access data wherever it is stored.
