VoltDB, an enterprise-grade data platform for real-time information streaming, has scored $10m in its Series C.
Following the close of the round, the company will capitalize on opportunities presented by the introduction of 5G.
A study from Gartner claims nearly two-thirds of organizations will be impacted by device densification and continuous connectivity offered by 5G, leading to many enterprises releasing a next-generation network in 2020.
Through 5G companies can take advantage of industrial IoT, machine learning, real-time KPI management, and enhanced analytics.
VoltDB offers cloud-native data streaming to help organizations take advantage of real-time decision making. The real-time analytics tools are used by companies in the cryptocurrency and financial services space.
Financial services can leverage VoltDB for fraud detection, trade verification and bid and offer management. For trade verification, VoltDB is capable of recording order execution history and ensure all transactions are completed as needed.
Its technology also helps a business with fraud detection by using stored procedures to manage the analytic logic and detect any false transactions.
VoltDB CEO David Flower said, “As 5G becomes more prevalent globally, enterprise organizations must evolve from latency-prone batch processing to intelligently act on business events in real-time. The influx of streaming data from multiple sources and in different formats coupled with the move to the cloud is forcing enterprises to break down monolithic applications into microservices to improve operational agility.”
