Secure Code Warrior has scored $47.6m in its Series B round which was led by Goldman Sachs.

The startup is an online secure coding platform which helps developers to improve their security frameworks. Founded in 2015, the platform supports just under 30 programming languages and frameworks and provides over 3,500 training modules.

Its technology is role-specific and uses gamification techniques to assist learning and increase adoption across the business. Education around web apps and services, API, mobile, IoT technology, and legacy systems are offered through Secure Code Warrior.

Other investments to the Series B came from ForgePoint Capital and Cisco Investments, and previous backers AirTree Ventures and Paladin Capital Group.

Having raised the money, Secure Code Warrior is looking to increase its global expansion initiatives and product innovation. Furthermore, it will establish new operations in Portland, Oregon and across Asia Pacific, starting with Singapore.

ForgePoint Capital managing director Sean Cunningham said, “In a time when the industry is struggling with securing their environment and products, Secure Code Warrior addresses the root cause – Dev Ops delivering secure code.

“Secure Code Warrior solves a fundamental problem for organizations: teaching, measuring and improving secure coding skills during the development process. The Security industry cannot keep up with the vulnerabilities hackers produce, as current market solutions are simply not effective.”

As part of the deal, Secure Code Warrior managing director David Campbell will join the company’s board of directors.

Last year, the company closed its Series A round on $3.5m following investments from Paladin Capital Group and AirTree Ventures.
