Dutch challenger bank bunq has announced a new initiative called Double Donation Day where it will double the amount raised to charities by its users, but only for the most popular charity.
bunq’s first Double Donation Day will take place on Saturday September 5 to coincide with the United Nation’s International Day of Charity. During the day, bunq users can use the neobank’s charity feature to raise money for their chosen causes.
“Feedback from our users shows they want to have a positive impact on the world in a fun and easy way, so we’re very excited to support them by doubling their in app donations to their most popular charity,” said Ali Niknam, CEO and founder of bunq.
Niknam founded bunq in 2012. He recently warned that he thinks Brexit could force European FinTech companies to leave the UK.
