Ghana has introduced a new cybersecurity law

Ghana’s parliament has introduced its new Cybersecurity Act 2020 to protect children and companies from abuse and digital threats.

The government is also looking into creating a reporting system where people and companies can report cybercrime, breaches and incidents, according to Capacity.

The news comes about after Ghana has experienced a surge in hack attacks that has affected the banking, finance, telecommunications and energy sectors to name a few.

The new law will empower authorities to better combat cybercrime.
