Paysme secures £268,520 in oversubscribed crowdfunding round

The SME-focused FinTech startup Paysme has already banged through its original target by securing £268,520 on its Seedrs campaign, and it’s not over yet.

At the time of writing, there are still 37 days left for the London-based venture to raise more money. So far, 63 investors has committed to back the venture.

Paysme originally set out to raise £250,000. Founded in 2010, the company claims to have £1.6m in revenue and to have been integrated into a network of 12,000 taxis across the UK.

“The SME and self employed markets are huge, fragmented and underserved in technology and financial services innovation,” Paysme said in a statement. “Millions of small businesses lack the time, resources and skills required to transition seamlessly to a fast growing digital economy. The pandemic has magnified this problem.

“Paysme’s vision is to empower SMEs with a super app that solves common pain points by aggregating a suite of digital financial services on a single platform. FinTech solutions for small business owners will include mobile payments, e-commerce, digital banking, accounting, insurance, savings, loans, loyalty and rewards.

“SMEs are the beating heart of our economy and Paysme is proud to be powering financial inclusion across local communities to help accelerate their transition to the digital economy.”
