oak9 has closed a $5.9m seed round to support the launch of its infrastructure as a code security platform.
Menlo Ventures acted as the lead investor, with contributions also coming from Hyde Park Angels and Uncorrelated Ventures. As part of the deal, Â Menlo Ventures partner Venky Ganesan has joined the oak9 board of directors.
Funds from the round will be used to further invest into its R&D efforts and acquire additional customers.
The oak9 platform claims to accelerate the delivery of cloud-native applications, whilst supplying comprehensive security. Its platform integrates into the software development lifecycle, analyses infrastructure as code and builds in security on a holistic and comprehensive view of its architecture.
oak9 CEO Raj Datta said, “Every day, businesses face a trade-off: They can either wait for security or keep moving and accept the risk.
“oak9 was founded as a third option that supports both accelerated delivery and comprehensive security. We need to shift left even further than many organizations have considered to build security into product design. We need to go beyond just keywords and components to analyse security more comprehensively across the entire architecture. And we need continuous, dynamic monitoring to achieve ongoing security. This is exactly what we designed the oak9 platform to do.â€
