Lab49, a consultancy firm for banks and financial services providers, has completed an employee-led GoFundMe page to help purchase oxygen concentrators for colleagues in India.
The crowdfund raised its $10,000 target within just three weeks, with commitments coming from donors in Australia, the UK, US and India.
In line with the fundraise, Lab49 agreed to match each donation to maximise its support for workers in India, bringing the total raised to $20,000.
Lab49 independently sourced oxygen concentrators and managed the delivery to employees in India, with support of its Dublin-based finance team. It managed to deliver the first five devices to employees in rural areas within weeks, despite trade restrictions and other obstacles, it said.
Its funds have also helped the company deliver three 10L devices.
The company added that Lab49 employees will offer the oxygen concentrators to local communities as capacity allows them to.
