Filipino FinTech GCash has partnered with InsurTech Igloo to help support its large customer base with bolstered online shopping protection insurance.
According to Insurance Business Asia, GCash – who has a customer base of around 46 million – has seen over 13 million log-ins daily during the prolonged lockdowns on its mobile payments and banking platform. This growth in popularity has compelled the company to look to provide strong security for each transaction made in the company’s app.
GCash claimed that its app is expected to hit PHP 3 trillion in grass transactions soon, which is thrice its performance in 2020.
GCash CEO Martha Sazon said, “This comes at an unprecedented time when we see robust growth in our online transactions and user base.
