Commonstock snares $25m Series A to continue platform build-out

Investing social platform Commonstock has secured $25m from a Series A funding round led by Coatue.

The round also saw participation from QED, Upside Ventures, Abstract Ventures, Resolute Ventures and Floodgate as well as funding from numerous angel investors.

Established in 2017, Commonstock is a social network that looks to increase the knowledge of investors through the verification of actual track records. Members of the community are able to link their existing brokerage accounts and share their real-time portfolio, performance and trades.

Users of the Commonstock platform will get real-time alerts when their friends on the network buy or sell stocks, so as to help them copy each other’s trades and invest together. They can also participate in discussions about investment themes and industry takedowns.

According to Commonstock, it intends to use the newly raised capital to continue the building out of its investment social platform.
