Colombian FinTech Movii closes Series B on $15m

Movii, a Colombian FinTech aimed at helping people buy products around the world, has reportedly raised $15m in its Series B funding round.

Square and Hard Yaka served as the lead investors, according to a report from PYMNTS.com.

With the support of its investors, the FinTech company hopes to push its financial inclusion efforts to help every Colombian pay or be paid digitally.

The FinTech company is also planning to launch an international money order service and support money transfers to 130 countries through its digital wallet.

Founded in 2018, the FinTech company provides consumers with a mobile app and card that facilitates online shopping anywhere in the world. In addition to this, the app enables a user to send money, receive money, top-up a phone, complete a bank transfer, make bill payments, make bets, complete a wire transfer and more.

Movii was recently part of a government pilot that saw it work with the digital exchanges Panda and Bitpoint. The goal was to help financial institutions offer deposit and withdrawal of cryptocurrencies.
