Mon Petit Placement lands funding for French investing community

Lyon-based FinTech company Mon Petit Placement has raised €6m in seed funding, 18 months after the launch of its commercial offer.

The round was managed on behalf of the State by Bpifrance as part of the Investments for the Future Programme. Insurtech Capital, Weaving Invest, Aonia Ventures, French Founders and the start-up’s existing investors also participated the round.

Founded by Thomas Perret, Margaux Belhade and Thibault Jaillon in 2017, Mon Petit Placement aims to make financial investment more accessible to individuals. Thanks to a low entry ticket of only €300, it gives its users access to high-end financial products previously reserved for wealthy clients. It also supports them in their investment strategy in a personalised way, by offering four portfolios adapted to their risk profile (Voluntary, Energetic, Ambitious, Intrepid).

Mon Petit Placement raised €650,000 in October 2019 and completed a funding round of €1.5m in 2020.

With the latest round of funding, Mon Petit Placement said it plans to double its workforce in 2022, diversify its range of financial products, and continue to invest in R&D, particularly AI technology.

Perret said, “This fundraising is one more step for Mon Petit Placement in its desire to democratise financial investment with individuals.

“Our deep ambition is to move the French from the status of saver to that of investor, by offering them both personalised support, high-end products, and the possibility of making their capital grow while supporting causes close to their hearts.”
