Metro Bank introduces new invoicing features to its mobile app

Metro Bank has launched a new invoicing technology aimed at reducing bottlenecks on its mobile app.

The new features will provide its business customers with the ability to create, track and manage branded invoices directly from their Metro Bank accounts.

According to Metro, customers will now be able to quickly create invoices on-the-go via the app, accessing lists of their previously saved clients as well as the products and services the bank provides. The app will show the payment status of each invoice and automatically settling their invoices with payments that arrive into their accounts. Customers will also be able to include their business logo on each invoice.

The service will be free of charge to all business customers and will be made available for customers using online banking later this year.

Metro Bank chief commercial officer David Thomasson said, “This latest initiative is another string to our bow when it comes to serving the UK’s businesses, after what has been a strange and difficult year for us all. SMEs across the country are crying out for convenient, easy-to-use banking tools that free up precious time to run and grow their businesses. We’re doing our bit to make their lives a little more hassle-free.”

In 2020, Metro collaborated with Canadian FinTech Sensibill to launch new app tools for businesses to help manage their receipts. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the bank has provided £1.5bn in government-backed loans to over 36,000 UK firms.
