Securonix raises $1bn from round led by PE firm Vista Equity Partners

Threat detection platform Securonix has raised $1bn in a growth investment led by Vista Equity Partners.

Other commitments to the round came from Volition Capital and Eight Roads Ventures.

With the funds, Securonix hopes to capitalise on its growth and meet customer demand. As part of this growth, the company plans to hire senior leaders across its engineering, cloud operations, threat labs, and sales and marketing teams.

This investment comes after a strong 12 months of growth, including 100% year-over-year employee headcount growth. The CyberTech company now has over 1,000 employees around the world.

The company, which was founded by Tanuj Gulati and Sachin Nayyar, offers a SaaS-based, multi-tenant security analytics, operations and response platform. Its technology gives clients full visibility, advanced detection and response and unlimited scalability for their systems.

Nayyar stated that Securonix pioneered user entity behaviour analytics with an analytics-centric approach to security monitoring.

Its clients include five of the Global Fortune 10.

Securonix CTO and co-founder Tanuj Gulati said, “Since inception, Securonix has been steadfast in its commitment to develop innovative products that solve the difficult problem of identifying and responding to advanced security threats while meeting the needs of scalability, cloud readiness, and operational efficiency.

“We look forward to this partnership with Vista to support our goal of enabling leading enterprises and managed service providers to secure their infrastructure, network, and applications against advanced threats with speed and efficiency.”

Citi served as the exclusive financial advisor to Securonix and Fenwick & West acted as its legal consort. While Kirkland & Ellis was the legal counsel to Vista.

Securonix previously raised $24m in funding back in March 2021.

Vista Equity is no stranger to the CyberTech industry. It previously led the $100m Series E round of cloud security platform Menlo Security in 2020 and joined the $200m Series E of autonomous endpoint protection company SentinelOne.
