Giesecke+Devrient, a security technology group, has purchased payments and identity solutions firm Valid USA for an undisclosed fee.
According to the Paypers, with this step, G+D aims to accelerate growth in the US. Customers of G+D will also benefit from the enlarged company size in the facing of the growing supply chain challenges.
Valid offers solutions in the areas of payment, mobile, data and identity solutions, as well as digital certification and digital marketing.
Once the deal is concluded – which is planned for later this year – the G+D Group will integrate the acquired businesses into its existing organisation. G+D will take over the local payment card production facilities, while its subsidiary Veridos – a provider of integrated identity solutions – will further expand the existing drivers licence card business.
