European Innovation Platform Kickstart has announced the 43 companies in its newest accelerator programme, with 12 FinTech and InsurTech companies making the cut.
Kickstart has picked companies from the finance and insurance, new work and learning, food and retail, health and wellbeing, and smart cities sectors.
Selected companies participate in a ten-week program to facilitate collaborative innovation partnerships and commercial deals to co-create in the form of proof-of-concepts, pilots and commercial projects with Kickstart partners. Its partners include AXA, Coop, Swisscom, La Mobilière, PostFinance, Sanitas, The City of Zurich, Canton de Vaud, Credit Suisse, Galenica, CSS Insurance and others.
The FinTech companies to make the cohort were Blockchain-powered platform for social fundraising AIDONIC, AI Writing Solution Typewise, decarbonisation platform for companies and supply chains The Climate Choice, cloud-based insurance product developer bsurance, CyberTech platform CyberSmart, carbon removal portfolio service Klimate, environmental impact data platform Doconomy, financial planning tool Finmarie, personal finance service Monkee, collaboration tool compliance software Surfly, sales intelligence platform Unique and automated surveying system Boomerang Ideas.
Kickstart Innovation CEO and co-founder Katka Letzing said, “We are pleased that more and more startups have sustainability clearly at the core of their developments.
“We received applications from 58 countries this year with not only strong focus on potential proof of concepts and commercial deals, but also on strategic investment opportunities which increased significantly from last year, which is all supporting innovation strength in Switzerland and Austria.”
Since 2015, Kickstart has supported over 400 startups and facilitated over 200 deals in the form of pilots and commercial projects coming from over 80 countries.
