UK-based FinTech giant Revolut is the most searched online banking service in Europe, according to a study by spread betting broker CMC Markets.
The study claims Revolut was the most searched overall, with it being the most searched in 25 countries, including Germany and Spain – where it had an average of 71,000 monthly searches in each. Swizerland, another country where Revolut ranked top, accounts for around 25,000 monthly searches for the FinTech unicorn.
Revolut was the second most searched in 14 more countries, including France and Iceland. It was then the third most searched in another four countries, including Italy, Belgium and Belarus.
Overall, Revolut registers 923,000 average monthly searches across the whole of Europe.
The second most searched was fellow UK-based FinTech company Wise. The company, which was founded by two Estonians, is the most searched in nine countries. These include Estonia, where it has 6,300 monthly searches, Norway, Turkey and Ukraine.
Wise was the second most searched in 18 countries, including Hungary, Greece and Portugal and third in 15 countries, including the UK.
The third spot was claimed by Germany’s N26. It topped the search list for four countries, including Andorra, Austria, San Marino and Slovenia. It was then second-most searched in four countries, including Belgium and Luxembourg, and the third most in ten more countries.
In the UK, the most searched bank is Monzo, followed by Starling.
Earlier in the year, Revolut celebrated its seventh anniversary and announced it had surpassed the 20 million customer mark. It also revealed it processes over 250 million transactions each month.
