ERGO Travel Insurance has launched a service in collaboration with Travel InsurTech Air Doctor that will allow its customers to receive medical assistance anywhere in the world.
Founded by Jenny Cohen Derfler, Efrat Sagi Ofir, Yam Derfler and Yegor Kurbachev, Air Doctor provides travellers with peace of mind when they are faced with a medical emergency while travelling.
Rather than trying to figure out where your nearest doctor or local hospital is in an unfamiliar place, possibly in an unfamiliar language too, the travel InsurTech provides a stress-free way of accessing medical care abroad.
ERGO Travel Insurance said that due to the offering from Air Doctor, insured persons who need health care during their trip abroad only have to access the service through their website or mobile App.
The company said, “In 3 simple steps they will have their medical appointment arranged, without waiting, or intermediaries.”
Through Air Doctor, ERGO Travel Insurance insured will have 20,000 doctors in more than 75 countries, and they will only have to choose the specialty they need, the day and time that suits them best, and will receive an Air Doctor confirmation in less than 45 minutes.
Service users also have the option of filtering medical specialist by language or type of consultation, and choose the one that best suits their needs and the destination where they are. The application is offered to the user in Spanish and the support as well.
Earlier this year, Air Doctor partnered with global travel InsurTech Ok Away.
The medical care and travel startup also recently raised $20m in a funding led by Lightspeed Ventures to enter its next phase of growth.
The round also saw participation from Vintage Investment Partners and Munich Re Ventures, alongside The Phoenix, one of Israel’s leading insurance providers, as well as Kamet Ventures, which led the company’s previous round.
