Female Invest, a Danish e-learning startup, has acquired trading platform Gaia as part of its plans to roll out an investment offering.

According to a report from TechCrunch, Gaia Investments will be integrated into Female Investments’ offering. The trading platform focusses on investing in companies with sustainability goals.

Female Invest previously raised £.3m in funding back in November 2021.

Founded in 2019 by Emma Due Bitz, Camilla Falkenberg, and Anna-Sophie Hartvigsen, Female Invest provides a subscription-based learning platform.

The company’s mission to empower millennial and Gen Z women by increasing their understanding of personal finance and investing, even if they come to the platform with no prior knowledge or experience, and without the ability to invest large amounts.

According to Female Invest, not a single country in the world has achieved financial gender equality. Underpinning its mission, is the company’s belief that when you give women the ability to make the most of their money, “the world becomes a stronger and better version of itself.”

Members get access to learning courses, a written knowledge bank, master classes, weekly webinars with expert speakers and a community page where members can connect with each other.

The platform also hosts free webinars, including ‘An Introduction to Investing’, and ‘Adapting to the Cost of Living.’

Camilla Falkenberg, Female Invest co-founder and partner, said the ability to invest directly through Female Invest is a great next step for the subscription edtech platform.

“Since day one, we have always been very focused on building the features and products that were requested by our community…And we get requests every day for the possibility to trade directly through us.”

She added that she thinks the platform gets that request so often because its users trust it. A recent survey of customers found that 96% of them would trust Female Invest with their money more than their bank.

Falkenberg added,“Our vision is to create an extremely user-friendly, and easy to navigate, platform with a focus on sustainability to invest in the values that matter to them…We have a very loyal user base who is just waiting for us to launch the next product which is a great starting point.”
