Microsoft Teams users can now accept payments with GoDaddy Payments

Tech giants Microsoft and GoDaddy have announced a strategic partnership that will enable digital transactions during virtual meetings.

Customers of both companies will be able to carry out secure payments while conducting virtual meetings through Microsoft Teams.

Microsoft Teams is a popular video conferencing software used by millions of people worldwide, and the collaboration with GoDaddy will bring an additional layer of convenience and security to users. GoDaddy, on the other hand, is a domain registrar and web hosting company that serves millions of small and medium-sized businesses worldwide.

The new collaboration will allow small businesses to use Microsoft Teams’ new Payments app and sync their GoDaddy Payments account. This will then allow them to collect and manage payments through the Teams platform, both on desktop or mobile devices.

The companies noted that the collaboration would help small and medium-sized businesses manage their finances more effectively, allowing them to focus on growing their businesses.

Microsoft GM for SMBs, Modern Work Brenna Robinson said, “Over 300 million people rely on Teams every month to stay productive and connected. We wanted to pull in the leaders in commerce to help make it easier for small businesses to get paid for their virtual services—GoDaddy has a very strong reputation with SMBs and gives us an opportunity to extend our great partnership with them. This payments integration is an exciting new growth opportunity for small businesses.”
