Certif-ID International GmbH, a blockchain-based platform for international skilled professionals, has successfully raised €1.6 million in a seed funding round.
The funding was led by NRW-Bank and included angel investors Andreas Weinberger, Malte Pollmann (Supervisory Board Utimaco Group), Jörg Will (Partner at IFP Executive Search), and Michael Bernhörster (Head of Advisory, Schilling Group).
The company also continues to receive support from TÜV Rheinland. Certif-ID’s primary focus is on automating and digitising the recruitment process to verify skills and issue visas for international skilled professionals, particularly in healthcare, engineering, and logistics sectors.
Certif-ID plans to use the funds for further expansion into Asia and Europe and to develop its technology platform. The company’s TalentSure product line has over 300,000 registered users from 32 countries and offers 16,000 job opportunities. Utilising blockchain technology, the platform aims to provide transparency and trust for candidates’ application documents.
In addition to TalentSure, Certif-ID also offers CredSure, a SaaS platform that helps companies in digitising credentials and anchoring them to blockchain for instant verification. Education providers can issue digital badges to their graduates, showcasing and verifying their newly acquired competences and matching them to industry demand.
Certif-ID Co-Founder and CEO Tim Miller said, “The demand for skilled manpower across the world has never been stronger. Yet the processes for recruitment, skill verification and visa issuance are slow to adapt. The urgent need to automate and digitise these processes is crucial to minimise any adverse economic impact.”
The company’s second Co-Founder, Markus Dohm, added, “We are also thrilled to be the first company to be supported by the new NRW.SeedCap program.”
Founded in 2020 in Cologne, Certif-ID currently employs 20 people across India and Germany.
