Vonage and Meta redefine payment solutions through WhatsApp in Singapore

Vonage, a global front-runner in cloud communications aiding businesses to fast-track their digital transformation, has joined forces with Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp. Together they aim to introduce payments through the messaging platform in Singapore.

Offering this new capability, Vonage’s Conversational Commerce, underpinned by Jumper.ai, empowers businesses and customers to enjoy a smooth, integrated shopping journey, encompassing discovery, engagement, and payments, all inside WhatsApp.

The purpose of the partnership is to streamline and ensure secure payments via WhatsApp in Singapore. With this collaboration, Vonage’s Conversational Commerce will revolutionise how individuals and businesses in Singapore interact. Businesses will be able to offer unique and instantaneous customer experiences that will enhance customer engagement and foster loyalty.

Vonage is a company that enables brands to build omnichannel, messaging-first customer purchasing experiences across multiple platforms, including WhatsApp, Messenger, Apple Business Chat, Instagram, Twitter, SMS, LINE, Google Business Messages, and brand websites.

The messaging app, gaining popularity amongst consumers worldwide, serves as a swift and direct way of connecting with their preferred brands. Meanwhile, Meta, formerly Facebook Inc., owns popular social media platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram. Through these platforms, Meta connects billions of people worldwide, enabling businesses to engage with their audience effectively.

Additional advantages and scalability are facilitated by Vonage’s Communications APIs, offering the potential to smoothly invite buyers to a live video interaction with an in-store associate or customer service agent with just one click. A fitness studio, #NOEXCUSES, and brands such as Tyetye are already making the most of Vonage’s payment capabilities, collecting fees and payments from customers through WhatsApp.

Vonage’s Sr. Director of Product Management, Yash Kotak, said, “Backed by the power of the full Vonage Communications Platform, we are delighted to meet customers’ evolving needs with Vonage Conversational Commerce powered by Jumper.ai – providing embedded commerce capabilities to drive more engaging and seamless shopping experiences through WhatsApp.

“This development highlights our commitment to continue pushing the boundaries of conversational commerce and empowering businesses throughout Singapore to create meaningful relationships with their customers.”
