Sk3w Technologies, a firm focused on standardising the latency playing field within exchange access services, has raised $7m in a Series A.

The investors that were leading this round included Tower Research Ventures, IMC, and Citadel Securities.

Sk3w Technologies’ primary mission is to provide transparent and auditable access into the trading ecosystem. By delivering uniform access to exchanges and financial data centres, Sk3w Technologies ensures accuracy within a billionth of a second to market participants. Their branded system and proprietary technology offer a solution to network expansion without constructing additional fibre, ensuring a level playing field for all.

The funds from this Series A round will be used to enhance Sk3w Technologies’ existing proprietary, expandable data standardisation system. The plan includes adding headcount to the already outstanding engineering team and continuing to refine the technology to keep pace with the best-of-breed industry technologies.

Co-founders Craig Mohan and Chad Milam have developed Sk3w Technologies with a keen focus on solving the persistent, costly issue of latency standardisation within data centres and exchange access services. Their innovative approach eliminates the need for building or laying additional fibre, thereby providing a monitored, auditable, and quick-to-deploy standardisation solution without the inflated pricing of equidistant fibres.

Co-Founder Craig Mohan said, “We are tremendously proud of the way our technology solves a very real, though intangible-to-many, problem in modern markets, and we will continue to refine our solution such that it improves alongside other best-of-breed industry technologies. We are very appreciative of this investment.”

IMC’s Global Head of Business Strategy and Co-Head of IMC, Jurjen Koksma, said, “Fair access is a non-negotiable requirement for modern markets. IMC is excited to help Sk3w deliver a cutting-edge solution to the age-old problem of ensuring that all market participants can compete on a level playing field.”

Head of Tower Research Ventures, Jared Young, said, “We are excited to see the widespread support for Sk3w and the approach they are using to bring this new technology to exchange data centres.”

Previous investors in Sk3w Technologies include Optiver, IMC, Jump Trading, Tower Research Ventures, XR Trading, and Mr. Tom Joyce.
