Stripe, a financial infrastructure platform for businesses, has revealed Steffan Tomlinson will be stepping into the role of chief financial officer.
With a broad reach, Stripe’s services are utilised by world-class companies such as Amazon, Uber, BMW, Airbnb, Maersk, and Microsoft, processing over $1bn of revenue every year.
Stripe operates as a pivotal financial infrastructure platform for businesses of various sizes. Processing revenue exceeding $1bn every year, it is utilised by over 100 global players, while its product suite has been growing to encompass marketplace management, card issuance, identity verification, bank account authentication, and lending.
The company continues to be a hub for innovation and problem-solving, as more than 5,000 new businesses including startups like Anthropic, Midjourney, and Runway, are emerging on Stripe every week.
Steffan Tomlinson is set to join Stripe as its chief financial officer. He comes with an impressive background of over 25 years in the finance industry, working with tech giants like Confluent, Google Cloud, and Palo Alto Networks. His career spans from seed-stage startups to Fortune 25 companies, and he’s been instrumental in scaling financial operations for high-growth firms.
Outside of his professional role, Tomlinson is known for his dedication to educational access, supporting organisations like Challenge Success, Peninsula Bridge, and The Girls’ Middle School. He also serves on the board of Eventbrite and has previously served on the boards of Cornerstone OnDemand, Qlik, and Riverbed.
Stripe’s commitment to its users and growth in online commerce are among its core focuses. Steffan’s addition to the team aims to further enhance the efficiency of financial operations within the company, and this new chapter signifies Stripe’s ongoing commitment to innovation and growth in the financial infrastructure sphere.
