Romanian cyber firm Bitdefender has announced its acquisition of Horangi Cyber Security, a prominent figure in the cybersecurity realm of Asia.
The primary aim of this acquisition is to boost and expand Bitdefender’s Managed Detection & Response (MDR) capabilities. Although the specifics surrounding the deal’s monetary value remain undisclosed, the acquisition’s strategic significance is palpable.
Bitdefender, originating from Romania, has made a global mark with its advanced cybersecurity solutions, ensuring robust defence against a myriad of online threats. On the other hand, Horangi Cyber Security, headquartered in Singapore, specialises in offering a comprehensive range of cyber defence services that align with today’s dynamic threat landscape.
The acquisition signifies a monumental enhancement for Bitdefender’s service offerings. It aims to broaden the ‘attack surface monitoring capabilities’ within Bitdefender’s arsenal. This means that businesses will have a stronger shield against cybercriminal activities, including the likes of misconfiguration, vulnerability detection, and ensuring governance and compliance in hybrid and multi-cloud atmospheres.
The rise in multi-cloud adoption across various industries presents a multitude of challenges for organisations. The intricacies of managing myriad configuration settings, permissions, and entitlements become increasingly arduous. The merger of expertise between Bitdefender and Horangi is poised to address these challenges directly.
