Scottish Financial Enterprise (SFE), Scotland’s esteemed representative body for its financial services sector, has onboarded Cheri Burns, the current PR & Corporate Communications Director at RegTech firm Encompass Corporation. Burns is set to amplify SFE’s Young Professionals network by taking up the mantle as Communication Strategy Lead.
Established in 2016, the SFE Young Professionals (SFEYP) was envisioned and created by aspiring individuals in Scotland’s financial services domain. The initiative aims to offer budding professionals avenues for career advancement, broader networking scopes, and an overall easier ingress into the sector.
Cheri Burns is no stranger to the spotlight. Presently holding the title of PR & Corporate Communications Director for Encompass Corporation, she’s now primed to bring her expertise to the SFEYP’s Committee as the Communication Strategy Lead.
Having graced the media sector with over a decade of dedicated service, Burns is well-versed in its intricate nuances. Her impressive track record boasts editorial roles with prominent UK entities like The Daily Record, The Herald, and BBC Sport Scotland. Burns further showcased her prowess by managing publications during the Glasgow 2018 European Championships. Before her tenure at Encompass, these significant roles have given her a unique blend of media and financial tech exposure.
In her freshly minted position at SFEYP, Burns is entrusted with the critical task of tailoring communication blueprints that resonate with the network’s ethos and mission. A key aspect of her role will be to join forces with SFE, aiming to elevate Scotland’s industrial reputation.
