HDI Global, one of the world’s leading industrial insurers, has continued its global expansion by gaining regulatory approval to open a new branch in Lisbon.
The move is seen as a significant milestone in the company’s journey, as it has been operating in Portugal, under the freedom of services, for two decades, However, this move will enable the company to serve its Portuguese clients more efficiently and comprehensively.
The team is now forming a team of experts who are well-versed in the Portuguese market, ahead of its plans to commence operations in the first quarter of 2024. HDI Global is looking for new talents who can help them offer innovative and tailored insurance products and services in the region.
As part of the move, HDI Global, renowned for its diverse portfolio of solutions, will bring its state-of-the-art insurance products to Portugal, including coverage for property damage, business interruption, casualty, energy, construction, marine, cyber, and specialty lines.
Moreover, this expansion will provide access to HDI Global’s International Programme network and its Captive Fronting and Alternative Risk Transfer capabilities, as it looks to expand itself as a local benchmark in the sector.
Leading this new venture as the Managing Director is Nuno Antunes, who currently serves as the Iberia Head of Client Strategy and Portugal Country Manager. Nuno is a seasoned insurance executive with more than two decades of experience in the UK, France, Spain, and Portugal.
