Stripe, a leading financial infrastructure platform for businesses, has added a groundbreaking product to its portfolio.

Known for its innovative approach in the FinTech sector, Stripe’s latest initiative, Climate Orders, demonstrates the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

The introduction of Climate Orders by Stripe marks a significant step towards addressing global climate challenges. This initiative emerges from the critical need to scale up carbon removal solutions to meet the pressing demands of our planet’s health.

At its core, Stripe simplifies complex financial processes for businesses worldwide. By offering a suite of payment processing tools and APIs, Stripe has become synonymous with ease and efficiency in the FinTech landscape.

Climate Orders, the latest offering from Stripe, is a unique product that allows businesses to pre-order carbon removal tons. This initiative is part of Stripe Climate, a broader commitment to environmental sustainability. It empowers businesses to actively participate in carbon removal, leveraging Frontier’s expertise in identifying and collaborating with leading carbon removal companies.

Climate Orders offers a pragmatic and accessible approach for businesses aiming to achieve climate targets. By enabling the pre-order of carbon removal tons, Stripe is not just offering a product but also promoting a culture of environmental responsibility within the business community.

In partnership with other industry giants like Alphabet, Shopify, Meta, and McKinsey Sustainability, Stripe co-founded Frontier. This collaboration aims to purchase over $1bn of permanent carbon removal by 2030, addressing the need for 5–10 gigatons of CO2 removal annually, as estimated by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
