Flexstone Partners, an investment manager with a portfolio exceeding $10bn, is embracing a new chapter in its growth and commitment to sustainability.
The firm proudly announces the appointment of Samira Boussem as Managing Director & Head of Sustainability, marking a significant stride in its responsible investment journey.
Flexstone operates in the realm of lower and middle market buyouts, growth equity, and emerging managers across the US, Europe, and Asia. As an integral part of Natixis Investment Managers, Flexstone excels in delivering bespoke investment solutions, ensuring an astute focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations within the private markets sector.
Samira Boussem, with her appointment effective from January 8, 2024, will be based in Paris and report to Eric Deram, Managing Partner at Flexstone. She brings her extensive experience in sustainable investing and asset management leadership to spearhead the ESG team. Her primary focus will be on enhancing Flexstone’s in-house ESG investing framework, stewardship strategy, and expanding the firm’s sustainable product offerings.
Before joining Flexstone, Samira played a pivotal role at Natixis Investment Managers Solutions as Head of ESG. She was instrumental in steering the sustainable taskforce, guiding affiliates in aligning with group ESG ambitions. Samira also imparts her knowledge as a lecturer in Sustainable Investing at Dauphine (Master Banque d’investissement et de marchés).
Samira’s career commenced at Crédit Industriel et Commercial (CIC) in 2000 as a Risk Manager. Her journey with the Natixis Group began in 2005, encompassing roles such as Senior Risk Manager and consultant within the Portfolio Consulting Group. Her academic credentials include a Master’s degree in probability and finance from the University of Paris 6 and the prestigious CFA ESG investing certification.
