NCR Voyix launches Aloha Pay-At-Table to revolutionise restaurant payments

NCR Voyix, a prominent global provider of digital commerce solutions, has unveiled Aloha Pay-At-Table, a new feature powered by sunday, aimed at streamlining the restaurant payment process and enhancing the overall dining experience.

Sunday, an Atlanta-based company, is transforming the dining landscape by enabling guests to use their smartphones to scan a QR code on the tabletop, view their itemised bill, split costs, and leave a tip, all within 10 seconds. This innovative software, launched in 2021 across 23 European locations during the COVID-19 pandemic, leveraged QR codes to bolster safety protocols, resulting in increased restaurant guest numbers and order sizes.

Currently, sunday’s platform supports over 2,000 restaurants globally, serving 50 million guests annually. The seamless integration with NCR Voyix’s Aloha POS ensures that Aloha Pay-At-Table reduces the time spent waiting and paying for the check, thereby improving efficiencies for guests, staff, and restaurant owners alike.

Benny Tadele, executive vice president and president of Restaurants at NCR Voyix, said “In an industry known for its razor-thin margins, our Aloha Pay-At-Table by NCR Voyix technology enables restaurants to operate more efficiently. By serving guests faster, encouraging higher spending and turning tables swiftly, it’s a game-changer for business-minded operators.”

The Aloha Pay-At-Table system offers several advantages. Servers see a 10% increase in tips due to automatic, precalculated tip suggestions. The efficiency of the system saves an average of 15 minutes per table by eliminating the need for servers to make multiple trips to process payments. Additionally, after paying, guests are encouraged to review their dining experience on Google, covering aspects such as food, service, ambiance, and value for money.

Christine de Wendel, sunday co-founder and U.S. CEO, said, “We are providing a better overall experience for everyone involved whether it’s a restaurant guest, server or restaurant operator. Guests can pay and leave at their convenience, waitstaff have more time to spend for personalized service, and managers or owners gain valuable data insights, such as which servers perform best and what experiences are stellar or need improving.”
