Metro Cable, Sierra Leone’s leading provider of high-speed gigabit internet access, and Velmie, a renowned banking technology provider, have teamed up to launch Vult, a modern digital wallet solution.
The collaboration aims to offer users a secure and convenient way to conduct online transactions, manage deposits and withdrawals, pay bills, and send and receive money in multiple currencies, all through a single platform.
Metro Cable is notable for delivering Sierra Leone’s first fiber optic broadband internet service, connecting the nation to the rest of the world. The company’s dedication to bridging the digital divide and promoting sustainable technological development aligns seamlessly with Velmie’s mission to provide innovative FinTech solutions.
Vult comes equipped with both a wallet and a card function. The Vult Wallet enables secure online transactions, bill payments, and shopping at any Visa-approved location. It employs end-to-end encryption to ensure the highest level of security for its users.
Key features of the Vult Wallet include multi-currency capability, allowing users to manage multiple currencies within a single wallet, facilitating smooth international transactions. It also offers multiple top-up options, enabling users to link multiple bank accounts, add money through mobile money, or via any Visa-issued card, making it incredibly easy to add funds. Built with robust security measures, Vult Wallet ensures end-to-end encryption for all transactions, protecting users’ sensitive financial data.
In addition to the wallet, Velmie and Metro Cable are introducing the Vult Card, a globally accepted payment card usable for online and in-store purchases. The Vult Card provides the same high level of security as the wallet, enabling users to manage their finances with ease.
Another feature, Vult Pay, offers seamless integration with existing business applications for payments, efficient cash management, and reporting. Businesses can benefit from Vult Pay Point, a point-of-sale terminal service that facilitates secure payment collections and allows for cash-in and cash-out transactions.
Slava Ivashkin, CEO at Velmie, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, saying, “We are thrilled to partner with Metro Cable to launch Vult, a digital wallet solution that will revolutionize financial transactions in Sierra Leone. By combining our expertise in Fintech software with Metro Cable’s commitment to connectivity, we aim to bridge the gap in financial inclusion and empower individuals and businesses across the country.”
Pierre Johnson, COO at Metro Cable, added, “This is a really exciting initiative – the first of its kind in Sierra Leone. We believe that Vult will have massive ripple effects in the country – bolstering economic growth and financial inclusion. We are grateful to our partner Velmie, who has provided invaluable support and expertise.”
