Capital One and Walmart conclude consumer card partnership to streamline services

Capital One and Walmart have announced the conclusion of their consumer card partnership agreement, which began in 2019.

Capital One Financial Corporation, a financial holding company headquartered in McLean, Virginia, and Walmart Inc., a tech-powered omnichannel retailer, had previously collaborated to introduce the Capital One Walmart Rewards Credit Card Program.

The end of this partnership means Capital One is no longer the exclusive issuer of Walmart Consumer Credit Cards. Despite this change, cardholders will continue to enjoy the same benefits as before. They can still earn and redeem rewards, and their accrued rewards will retain their value. Cardholders can use their Capital One Walmart Rewards® Card wherever Mastercard is accepted and the Walmart Rewards® Card for purchases at Walmart.

Capital One will retain ownership and servicing of the credit card accounts. Further information will be provided to Walmart credit card holders in the coming months.
